Conan Whitehead was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 8 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Ryan Furness in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
Whitehead, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, in defeating Moreno Blom and losing out to Conor Heneghan, but progressed through to the Semi Finals on leg difference, where he came up against Andy Hamilton, and seen off ‘The Hammer’ 4-1 to book his place in the final.
In the final, Whitehead took on Ryan Furness, who defeated Moreno Blom in the last four, and ‘The Barbarian’ was victorious in coming out a comfortable 4-1 victor to take the Week 8 crown, sealing his place in Champions Week and picking up the £5,000 weekly prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 9, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 6pm GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
