SEPTEMBER witnessed every area of the darts ecosystem begin to ramp up. Whether it’s the elite arm of the PDC, whose Autumn/Winter program is always so strong, or the big name manufacturers who are getting ready for launch season and their Christmas/January peaks.
Other organisations including the WDF and the ADC have their timetables working at full tilt and announcements are coming thick and fast. Whether it’s the return of the storied World Masters (for the WDF) or the success of the Championship Tour and the Oceania launch, for the ADC, it is clear that they are picking up momentum.
MODUS’s Super Series and the World Seniors are also moving up a level as we head toward next year’s calendar. Again the mix of opportunity for players at every level is moving forward rapidly.
All of which reminds us of our Darts Hero search. Ourselves and Winmau have been impressed with the quality and number of entrants so far and you will see examples within these pages. But don’t forget to drop us a line or video with your nomination (see page 38). The prize is truly unique so the more difficulty our panel has in deciding the better!
