The Artist Draws Near

Arron Monk and Conan Whitehead took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day 1 of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Colin Osborne in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

Monk, who entered Thursday’s play having finished 4^th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches, by recording victories over Tony Wood, Kevin Painter, Nathan Girvan and Gavin Carlin, with his only defeat coming against Martyn Turner.

Elsewhere, Tony Wood and Kevin Painter ended the day 2^nd and 3^rd respectively on 6 points each, with Martyn Turner and Nathan Girvan ending 4^th and 5^th on 4 points each, as Gavin Carlin sits bottom on 2 points.

In Group B, Conan Whitehead took the early lead, with the Stage One winner completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories over Dan Read, Danny Smith, Darryl Pilgrim and Jelle Klaasen, dropping just five legs across the evening.

Elsewhere, Dan Read ended the night in 2^nd on 6 points, Darryl Pilgrim in 3^rd on 4 points, Jelle Klaasen in 4^th on 2 points, but it was a disappointing debut for Danny Smith, who sits on 0 points, having suffered four defeats from four.

Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Colin Osborne in Saturday’s finale.

Group C will commence at 9:30am GMT and Group B will commence at 10pm GMT.
