The MODUS Super Series saw Steve West took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day 1 of Group A, top, after winning three of his five matches.
The seventh week of Stage 1 (2023) commenced at the Portsmouth venue with a mix of new and established talent as well as a legend of the game in this Super Series group.
Former Tour Card Holder, West, began his debut week at the Super Series by taking the early lead in Group A, as he won three matches from five, recording victories against William Borland, Tony Wood and Ciaran Teehan, with defeats coming against Adam Hunt and John Part.
Elsewhere, a further three players in Adam Hunt, William Borland and Ciaran Teehan all ended the day on 6 points each as well, but sit joint 2nd on the same leg difference of +2 and behind West, who’s on +5, whilst Tony Wood sits in 5th on 4 points and John Part bottom on 2 points.
Former dual-code World Champion Part endured a tough day, twice losing without troubling the scoreboard and twice in a deciding seventh leg. Ironically, Darth Maple’s sole victory came against leader Steve West whom he dispatched 4-2.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with West leading the way thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
