Preston Into ADC Top Three

Simon Preston was amongst those in the winner’s circle on Bank Holiday weekend for the Amateur Darts Circuit, defeating Nathan Care 5-3 in the Final to win the Botanical Gardens 2nd Bank Holiday GSoD. 

The ADC Championship Tour finalist claimed 32 ranking points for his victory on the second bank holiday Monday of the month, winning the match with his first dart at double tops in Atherton, Manchester. 

Preston included a 180 in both the Final and his 4-1 win over James Waite in the Semi Finals, with the Englishman moving ahead of Winmau Open Series 3 winner Jack Main into 3rd in the rankings with 377 points. 

Tony Wood remains the player to catch with 509 points, with Open Series Event 1 winner Lewis Gurney the Gateshead thrower’s closest challenger in 2nd with 429pts. 

John Nelson claimed the other competition running on Bank Holiday Monday with ADC Ranking points on offer, beating youngster Cam Crabtree 5-1 to win the Coronation Open in Coventry including 4 180s in the Final. 

The Englishman wrapped up his victory and 64 ranking points with a 58 finish in 2 darts to beat the player who recently featured at the MODUS Super Series. 

The Vault 2.0

The Second Vault Series of the year continues to progress as more players search for a spot in Portsmouth, with more regions taking part this time around compared with the first Vault Series. 

William Borland has started strongly in his attempts to return to Portsmouth, leading Derek Shields by 11pts after picking up his most recent Round Robin victory on Wednesday at the Players’ Lounge in Falkirk (Scotland). 

Finals Night will be in Bo’ness and the Winmau player has moved out of the gates rapidly since the Second Series started, beating 2nd placed Shields 3-1 on Wednesday to wrap up his 4th victory of the campaign with a 65 checkout in 3 darts. 

Kieran Smith closed to within a point of Johnny Haines in first after winning the recent Round Robin competition at the Carlton Club in London, beating Nathan Baldwin 2-0 in the Final with a 91.09 average. 

The Welshman like many others will be hopeful of securing his place at Finals night at the Trinity Club in Dorchester on the 9th of July. 

More ADC Ranking events approach this weekend including the Southwest Darts Open 4 from Bar501 in Bristol as well as the Streamline Taxis York Open Event 9 from Huntingdon Working Mens Club.
