Reece Robinson and Luke Littler took the early lead on Thursday and ended Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Jeroen Mioch in Saturday’s Champions Week finale at the Modus Super Series.
Robinson, who entered Group C having finished 4th in Group A earlier in the week, won four matches from five to take the early lead, as he recorded victories against Rene Eidams, Patrick Van den Boogaard, Andy Boulton and Jelle Klaasen. The North Easterner’s only defeat came against Berry Van Peer.
Elsewhere, Van den Boogaard and Van Peer also ended the day on 8 points each, but sit 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Robinson on leg difference, whilst Boulton sits in 4th on 4 points, Klaasen in 5th on 2 points, but it was a disappointing day for Rene Eidams, who failed to register a victory, with five defeats from five.
In Group B, Luke Littler took the early lead, after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Colin Osborne, Neil Duff, Steve West and Danny Lauby, dropping just three legs along the way.
Elsewhere, three players in Osborne, West and Lauby ended the night 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 4 points each, whilst Neil Duff failed to register a victory, having suffered four defeats from four.
Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Jeroen Mioch in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, with Robinson and Littler taking the early lead thus far.
Play in Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
Play will be streamed live on The Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
