ADC Qualifier Scott Marsh and ADC Europe Qualifier Marko Kantele took the early leads in Groups B and C in Week 3 of Series 5 in the MODUS Super Series.
As 11 players began the chase for 5 Finals Night spots at the Live Lounge,
Fallon Sherrock MBE was tied for the lead in Group C along with Finland international Kantele, with the former Women’s World Matchplay winner including a 147 checkout in dealing Marko his only defeat of the day.
Scottish international Shaun McDonald included the first big fish of the week, to take a 3-0 lead against the other ADC Europe qualifier of the week Mareno Michels in Group B.
The Punisher however will have been disappointed as his Dutch opponent fought back to clinch a 4-3 victory, missing just 2 darts on the outer ring.
Michels, James Hurrell and Ryan Furness are all tied for 2nd in the Group on 4 points, whilst McDonald is left rooted to the bottom after picking up one win, beating Furness in a last leg decider in both players final match of the day.
The top 3 players in Group B will qualify for Finals Night whilst the top 2 in Group C will also secure places on Saturday, with John Henderson the only confirmed finalist after the Red Dragon man only lost two matches in 3 days to top Group A with 26pts.
ADC Qualifier and debutant Sam Cromwell found 2 late wins to keep himself in contention to qualify from Group B after suffering early defeats against Fallon Sherrock and Adam Lipscombe.
The youngster defeated one of the group favourite’s Scott Baker, who included a 141 finish despite defeat in Portsmouth.
Sam also found victory in his final match of the day after beating Darren Johnson 4-2 to put himself in 4th place, 4pts of leaders Fallon Sherrock and Marko Kantele.

Scott Baker and Adam Lipscombe will open the final day of Group C action before Group B resumes from 10pm, with Mareno Michels and Ryan Furness playing in the first match.
