McEwan Downs Bomber To Reach Finale

Jim McEwan overcame leader Steve Brown to secure his place in Saturday’s Double trouble finale on Wednesday, after winning three of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.

McEwan, who entered Wednesday’s play on 12 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall after winning three matches from five, as he recorded victories against Robert Thornton, Neil Duff and Kevin Painter, with his two defeats coming against Mark Dudbridge and Steve Brown, to finish on 18 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Steve Brown and Robert Thornton will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall on 18 points each, both finishing behind McEwan on leg difference. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Connor Scutt, James Wilson and Conan Whitehead.

Mark Dudbridge, Neil Duff and Kevin Painter will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th, 5^th and 6^th respectively overall, with Dudbridge ending on 14 points, Duff on 12 points and Painter on 10 points. The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Darryl Pilgrim, Colin Osborne and Lisa Ashton.

The Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT.
