The Harborne and District League have completed the second game of the second half of their season and a 6-3 home win over Copper Fox ‘M’ has seen leaders Northfield Conservative Club extend their undefeated run to thirteen games. Although, event a perfect twenty-six points Northfield Conservative Club still only results in a narrow two points advantage over second in the league Copper Fox ‘R’ after they added a 7-2 home win over The Mill to their account.

Northfield Town are third and a further four points adrift but were this week’s top scorers as they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitor’s bottom of the table Windsor who after their thirteen fixtures are still seeking their first points of the season. The defeat for Copper Fox ‘M’ saw them drop from third in the table to fifth, their eighteen points eight short of the leaders.

There were just the two maximums this week and they came from M.Lloyd (Northfield Conservative Club) and R.Foxhall (Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club).

The Camp Hill League played their singles knockout down to the last sixteen players at the Cotterills Lane EBAHA Club. From the starting line-up of fifty-three players the sixteen making their ways through to finals night were Simon Edwards, Craig Stansfield,  Freddie Naylor,  Harry Sadler (Erdington Nomads), Bob Hayes, James Taylor (Wakefield Warriors), Dave Carter, Neil Parsonage 2x152b,9 darts game, Riley Mooney (Cotterills Lane EBAHA Club), Ashley Lattimer,  Steve Ironmonger, Pete Freeman, Mick Cunningham  (Moseley Arms), Dave Heighway 160b,, Pamela Lee (Tyseley Bears), Liam O’Donnell (Clumsy Swan).

The sixteen winning players will now do battle on finals night while the thirty-seven losing players will have another chance later in the season in the consolation singles knockout.

With the top two teams in division one of the Four Oaks and District League, Beehive and Bishop Vesey both only having one more fixture to play the title could go to either of them. Both teams are on twenty points with Beehive having the slender four legs of average superiority, their final fixture will see them play at home against next to bottom of the division Old Oscott Arrows while Bishop Vesey’s final game is an away fixture against third placed Nomads.

In division two Walmley CSC Flights have lost their sole leadership of the division after losing their home game to their nearest rivals Heartlands 5-4 who have joined them in pole position. The joint leaders are both on sixteen points and level on average while third in the division Red Lion are also on the same sixteen points and only trail the top two by three legs of average. 

Pint Pot Flights already have one hand on the winner’s trophy in division three as their latest 8-1 win at Rosey Mac’s Bar keeps intact their four points and huge average lead over second placed St Thomas Arrows with just two more fixtures to play, St Thomas Arrows won their latest fixture against St Tom Cats 7-2.

Game twelve in the South West Birmingham Clubs League saw no change in the top five places in the singles division and although leaders Longbridge United’s result for their game at Moseley All Services Club was a late result they still remain top of the table with thirty-seven points from twenty games. Second placed West Heath CEM have also played twenty games and they are on thirty-two points.

Northfield Town top the pre-match doubles division with a total of 224 points from twenty-one fixtures, Longbridge United hot on their heels with 223 points from twenty fixtures. Third placed West Heath CEM are on the same 223 points as Longbridge and have also played the same number of games.

As the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League get the second half of their season underway leaders Old Liberal Club made it nineteen wins in as many games when they won 7-0 at Glasscutters ‘A’ to keep them four points ahead of second placed Gate Hangs Well ‘B’ who won 5-2 at home against Rose and Crown ‘A’. A further two points adrift in third place is Princess who won 6-1 at Queens Head, D.Edwards having a 124 game shot for Princess. Netherton Conservative Club ‘A’ had two maximums, one each for their R.Wilkinson and M.Abbott in a 5-2 win at Crestwood.

Old Liberal Club, leaders of the Netherton Thursday Night League had a bye this week but still have a three points lead plus a game in hand on their nearest rivals Bulls Head who won 6-3 at Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘B’ which keeps Bulls Head just one leg of average ahead of third placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ who won their home game against fifth placed Hill and Cakemore Ex Serviceman’s Club 6-3.

Leaders and reigning champions of the Rowley Monday Night League Bell played away against third in the league Hawthorns in game number sixteen, a game that included three maximums, one for the hosts from T.Johnson and one each for Bell’s  B.Gillies and S.Price. Bell returned with a 7-2 win to keep them top of the table with a two points lead on second placed Plough and Harrow who won their home tie with Loyal Lodge 8-1. Hawthorns defeat leaves them six points off the top. Whiteheath Tavern, with a 160 break from D.Davies, won 5-4 at Rowley Labour Club while J.Tart (Tividale FC) recorded a nine darts game in his team’s 6-3 home defeat against Rowley Bar and Grill.

Game thirteen in the Silver End Sunday Morning League brought together the league’s top two teams with leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club travelling to take on second placed Dudley Sports ‘A’. The outcome was a 5-3 win for Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club to see them open up a three points lead at the top of the table, however their hosts have played one game fewer than them and a win in that would once again see both teams level on points. Third placed Old Star lost ground as they were held to a 4-4 draw at Church Tavern who are fifth in the league and still seven points short of their opponents.

After completing the opening four fixtures in the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League just four legs of average separate the top four teams. Old Liberal Club ‘A’ top the table, their latest 5-2 win at Stourbridge FC giving them a slender one leg of average lead on second placed Bird in Hand ‘E’ who won 7-0 at White Horse to put them one leg of average to the good on third in the league Hollybush who won 5-2 at Beech Tree Miners. Making up the top four is Fox Inn (Lye), their 6-1 win at Wheatsheaf leaving them two legs short of Hollybush and only four behind the leader’s Old Liberal Club ‘A’.

The Cradley Heath Tuesday Night League played their doubles knockout down to the last eight pairs and winning through to the quarter-finals.

Kings Head ‘A’ made it twelve wins in thirteen games in the West Midlands Men’s Super League when they won their home fixture with Junction ‘B’ 5-0. The win puts the leaders two points to the good on second placed Dog and Partridge after they won 4-1 at home against Shepwell Green, their forty-eight points one more than third in the league Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ after they beat Cottage Spring 5-0. Fourth in the table is Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club, they won 3-2 at home against Corpus Christi to give them forty-two points, however they have a game in hand on all three teams above them.

With just one more game to be played to complete the first half of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League fixtures Vine ‘A’ made it twelve undefeated games when they won 4-3 at Allen’s Bar to see them open up a four points lead at the top of the table. Allen’s Bar were previously second in the league but now drop to third two points behind Tamebridge who move up into the number two spot after winning 6-1 at Horseley Tavern ‘B’, Allen’s are no six points behind the leaders.

No change in the top five places in the Amblecote RBL Premier League with leader Dan Nicholls taking his points tally to 217 after winning 6-1 against Josh Wheeler and 7-0 against Carl Hipkiss. Second placed Reece Colley has six points fewer than Nicholls after he won 7-0 against Wozza Pritchard and 6-1 against Howard Pritchard. Third placed Nick Fullwell is on 207 points, ten behind Nicholls.

The top six places in division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League remain unchanged after the latest round of fixtures with Scott Baker on 131 points from eighteen games, he has a lead of thirteen on second placed Dean Simmons-Fullwood who has played one game fewer than him. In Stanton is third and has a game in hand on Simmons-Fullwood and is only three points behind him.

Although Kurt Wright didn’t play in division two he holds on to pole position with 120 points from fourteen games, he has three games in hand on his nearest rival Alan Melling who is six points behind him.

Dave Thackeray is running away with the division three title his 157 points from seventeen games giving him a lead of nineteen on second placed Thomas Hollowood who has played eighteen games, Thackeray is the only player in all three divisions to have won all of his games.

Game four in the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League and four teams Junction ‘B’, Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’, Woodfield and Hotshots share the same unbeaten eight points at the top of the singles division table. 

In the doubles division Junction ‘B’ and Hotshots are the top two teams and have won all four of their games.
