Thomas Banks was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Nine at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Conor Heneghan in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Banks, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Tom Lonsdale and Mike Van Duivenbode to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The Bulldog then came up against former Lakeside World Champion Scott Mitchell, and from there, Banks defeated ‘Scotty Dog’ 4-3 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Banks came up against Conor Heneghan, who’d defeated Dutchman Van Duivenbode in the last four. The 17-year-old came out on top against the Irishman, as he sealed a 4-2 victory to book his place in Champions Week for the first time as well as collecting the weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 10, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Series One Champion Conan Whitehead.
