Martin Thomas and Cam Crabtree took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join John Henderson in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Thomas, who last appeared at the Super Series back in November last year, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches and recording victories against Jeroen Caron, Robert Thornton, Sean Holley and Kevin Mills, with his only defeat coming against Jamie Atkins, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Jamie Atkins also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Thomas due to leg difference, whilst Kevin Mills sits in 3rd on 6 points, Sean Holley and Jeroen Caron sit 4th and 5th respectively on 4 points each, with Robert Thornton sitting bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
In Group B, Cam Crabtree took the early lead after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Kevin Burness, Danny Jansen and Aden Kirk, with his only defeat coming against Chris Gilliland, to end the evening on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players in Aden Kirk, Danny Jansen and Chris Gilliland ended the night 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 4 points each, whilst Kevin Burness sits bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join John Henderson in Saturday’s finale, with Thomas and Crabtree taking the early lead thus far.
Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
