Jim Long was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week 11 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Derek Coulson in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Long, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Derek Coulson and Sam Spivey to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against James Wilson and from there, Long defeated ‘The Jammy Dodger’ 4-1 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Long came up against Derek Coulson for the second time on the night, who defeated Johnny Haines in the last four, and once again, the Canadian got the better of his Welsh opponent, as Long dispatched of Coulson with a 4-1 success to seal his place in Champions Week as well as collecting the first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 12, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Darryl Pilgrim and Jimmy Van Schie. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
