The idea of a player, even one as outstanding as Luke, might go through the card of the PDC’s top titles was treated as fanciful. Suddenly even the man himself seems to think the unthinkable is possible.
Littler remains on course to complete an unprecedented clean sweep of Premier televised honours this year, having also lifted World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League and World Cup titles in 2026.

The World Champion is yet to commit to the Players Championship events this season, although he’s now focused on securing qualification for November’s Players Championship Finals in a bid to preserve his chance of creating history.
Speaking after his remarkable World Mathchplay defence ‘The Nuke’ acknowledged that he was taking the challenge seriously enough to alter his schedule and perhaps even delay a family holiday.
“I’ve just been playing so well,” added Littler, who also swept aside Niko Springer, Nathan Aspinall, Josh Rock and Dirk van Duijvenbode en route to glory this week.
“I don’t think my dad isn’t too happy because we were going to Spain, but now I have to go to Leicester and play some ProTours!
“I’ve won every major so far, so this is what I want to do.
“I’ve been checking the ProTour rankings and whoever is in 64th just keeps going up and up. There’s four Yet, with the season now well into its second half, the prospect no longer belongs solely to the realm of fantasy. Instead, it has become one of the sport’s most fascinating narratives. Having already captured the World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League, World Cup of Darts, and now the World Matchplay, the Warrington prodigy has placed himself on the verge of something genuinely unprecedented. Of all the major titles available, only the European Championship currently remains absent from his curriculum vitae. As outlined in our original piece this could be a ‘Career Slam’ of remarkable speed and breadth. But it is quite different to imagine the entire raft of the game’s biggest crowns being collected within one season and or a single calendar year. Phil Taylor dominated generations and Michael van Gerwen enjoyed periods of extraordinary supremacy, but even players of that calibre were unable to monopolise every significant honour available to them within a single season. Of course, the proposition remains an immensely arduous undertaking. Modern darts possesses a depth of talent arguably unrivalled in the sport’s history. Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen, Gian van Veen and a host of other elite arrowsmiths are more than capable of halting the march towards perfection. History, too, offers a cautionary tale. Numerous legendary figures have assembled extraordinary campaigns, only to discover that completing the set is far easier imagined than accomplished. Even making ‘the slam’ ranking majors, or other definitions, has not previously helped an era’s dominant figure to pull off the clean sweep. Yet, if any player currently possesses the requisite talent, temperament and insatiable appetite for silverware to challenge convention, it is Littler. His 2026 campaign has already registered the extraordinary. The question now is whether it can become immortal. Will A Nuclear Slam become a reality and what form will it take? Because while winning everything in a single season remains one of the most formidable achievements in professional sport, Luke Littler has spent much of the last two years making the seemingly impossible appear entirely routine.
