Finland’s Kirsi Viinikainen was victorious on Saturday as she was crowned the winner of Women’s Week (II) at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Laura Turner in the final and claiming the title and top prize.
Viinikainen, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of her group phase matches, as she defeated Lorraine Winstanley and Steph Clarke to progress through to the Semi Finals.
The Finn came up against Vicky Pruim, and from there, Viinikainen defeated the Belgian Swede, 3-2, to book her place in the final.
In the decider, Viinikainen came up against Laura Turner, who’d defeated Lorraine Winstanley in the last four, and the Finland star whitewashed Turner, 3-0, to become the winner of Women’s Week (II) and join Wales’ Rhian O’Sullivan on the roll of honour.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the inaugural Legends League week
commencing, with the field including a Super Series debut for 1996 Lakeside World Champion Steve Beaton.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus
