Littler Lands Big Fish Crown: World Champion's Team Take Charity Fishing Title

World darts number one Luke Littler has landed another trophy, and there wasn’t any arrows or an oche in sight. The darts king likes to reel in the big fish when he hits a 170 checkout, and after swapping arrows for angling at the Target Sports Stars Fishing Championship – the UK’s biggest and most prestigious annual charity fishing event – he tasted success as his team won the coveted team prize.

Event organiser and chairman of JBD Media & Events, Jess Harding said: “This year’s event – our 14^th – was without doubt the biggest and best championship to date. I want to thank all the amazing sports stars and celebrities that show up each year and get stuck in, you make this event truly special. It was a great year for the darts boys who demonstrated that their equally at home on the lake as they are at the oche, but it was a close run thing… the Target Sports Stars Fishing Championship gets more competitive every year.”

Fishing alongside fellow darts pros Adrian Lewis, Rob Cross and Target Darts Chairman Garry Plummer for Team Target, The Nuke and his fellow anglers saw off a host of sporting legends including Barry Hearn, David Seaman, Steve Davis and many more.

It was double delight for Team Target as Adrian Lewis won the singles title by pulling in a WHOPPING 111lbs and 2oz of fish during the four-hour competition.

Adrian Lewis claimed the individual title.

The UK’s most prestigious fishing event took place at Tunnel Barn Fisheries on Tuesday 28^th July. It aimed to raise £40,000 for various charities including The Willow Foundation, St Francis Hospice, Haven House, the Ricky Hatton Foundation and Alex – The Leukodystrophy Charity, but smashed that total by a further £10,000 bringing the total amount of money raised to £50,000.
