Seven weeks of round-robin action across the UK and Ireland came to a head this weekend, as the Amateur Darts Circuit’s VAULT series wrapped up its eighteenth edition with Regional Finals Days in all eleven territories, each one handing out a coveted spot at the MODUS Super Series.

The roll call of winners tells its own story of the amateur game’s breadth: Stuart Wares topped Scotland, Raymond Mulvey took Ireland, and Christian Ennis claimed Northern Ireland, while Stephen Cake did the same in Wales. Adam Winspear and former BDO and PDC player Steve Coote (pictured below) picked up the North East and North West respectively.
Jacob Gwynne took Yorkshire & Humber and Dan Nicholls came out on top in the Midlands. Brett Claydon won East of England, Henry Cooper claimed South West, and Andy Smith took the biggest prize of all in South East & London, by some distance the largest of the eleven regions, with over 2,000 players registered across the series.

The series also marked a step up in what VAULT pays out. From Series 18 onwards, the top 32 players in every regional table now share in the regional prize fund, part of a structure that puts more than £1 million a year into the grassroots game. Across the eleven regions combined, well over 2,700 players have now qualified for October’s National Finals across the VAULT and LEVEL UP categories.

The next stop for the ADC’s leading lights is Bradmoor Farm in Aylesbury, where the National Finals run from 15-18 October, headlined by a £70,000 prize pot and a route through to November’s ADC Global Championship at the MODUS Live Lounge.
