Chris Dobey staged a remarkable recovery from 4-0 down to defeat Tom Sykes 6-5, while Danny Noppert advanced with a solid 6-4 victory over Ritchie Edhouse on Day Two of the Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest.
Dobey’s dramatic turnaround proved the highlight of the afternoon session at the MVM Dome, as the seeded Englishman dug deep to edge a tight contest and book his place in the last 16.

Noppert was equally clinical, overcoming Edhouse 6-4 to continue his campaign and set up further progress in the European Tour event.
Elsewhere, Gary Anderson produced a sparkling display to defeat Krzysztof Ratajski 6-2 while averaging over 105, and defending champion Niko Springer’s title defence came to an end as he fell 6-4 to Ryan Searle.
Ross Smith and Dave Chisnall both posted ton-plus averages in comfortable 6-2 victories over William O’Connor and Wessel Nijman respectively.
Jermaine Wattimena progressed with a 6-4 win against Andrew Gilding, and Rob Cross edged a high-quality battle 6-5 against Luke Woodhouse.
Attention now turns to the evening session, where the remaining second-round ties will complete the last-16 line-up.
