The MODUS Super Series rolls into Week Three of Series 15 with a lineup that spans the full spectrum of the sport, from a former Grand Slam champion reacquainting himself with the big stage, a world quarter-finalist, to a Guinness World Record holder chasing a maiden tour card. Twelve players, three groups, one place at Champions Week up for grabs, and no shortage of stories heading into Portsmouth.
All eyes in Group A will be on Jose de Sousa. The Portuguese thrower needs little introduction to anyone who follows the professional circuit, having lifted major silverware during a PDC career that has also taken in eight World Championship appearances.
A MODUS field may seem a step down from the bright lights of Ally Pally, but it’s exactly the kind of match practice a player of his stature will value if The Special One is looking to make a big time return. Jose won’t have it entirely his own way with Killian Heffernan, Dylan Slevin, Arne Spee, Paul Krohne and Andy Baetens completing the group.

The presence of two Belgian names in Spee and Baetans, together with the in form German Paul Kjrone, alongside de Sousa’s own continental pedigree gives this group a distinctly European flavour. Spee in particular has been a regular fixture on the MODUS stage this year and will fancy his chances of using that familiarity to cause an upset.
Demolition Darts from Darren in Group B
Group B is headlined by another familiar face from darts’ recent history. Darren Webster, the “Demolition Man,” reached the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship on two separate occasions and spent over two decades on the PDC tour before stepping away in 2024. Now plying his trade on the WDF circuit, his appearance at MODUS offers a reminder of just how sharp his game can still look, built on a career that once carried him inside the world’s top 15.
He’s joined in Group B by Jim McEwan and Llew Bevan, the latter arguably the most intriguing name across the entire lineup. The Welshman already holds a Guinness World Record for the fastest ever round the clock, a searing 79.79 second effort that turned heads well beyond the darts world, and he’s spent the past years edging closer to a PDC Tour Card through repeated Q-School appearances. A three-way group alongside a former World Championship quarter-finalist gives Bevan the perfect opportunity to test himself against genuine pedigree.
Rounding out the lineup, Group C brings together Ciaran Forde, Mike Warburton and Asa Cansdale, three players whose route through the sport has followed the increasingly familiar MODUS pattern of Development Tour and Challenge Tour players using the platform to sharpen their television nerve.
Group C looks the most open of the three groups on paper, and it’s often these evenly-matched three-handers that throw up the week’s tightest games.
Play in group A gets going first, with Groups B and C to follow across the week before Saturday’s Finale decides who joins Series 15’s coveted Champions Week.
