Today’s PDC darts schedule is almost a breach of the laws of perpetual motion and as such there is always movement across the Werner PDC Main OoM ladder.
As it’s a two-year rolling ranking system, so players are constantly defending prize money from events they played in two seasons ago. This can see some dramatic slumps and sudden surges.
Perhaps the two most notable moves safer the most recent set of events are Gian Van Veen’s move to number 2 in the world and Wessell Nijman’s remarkable rise to number 13 without a major win, or even a semi final place, to help swell the coffers.
The last player to achieve such a rise through mainly ProTour events was Luke Humphries who managed to breach the top four before his outstanding run of major titles in 2023 and 2024.
The stabilisation and turnarounds of both Dirk van Duijvenbode and Rob Cross continue as they bump back up to number 20 and 21 respectively.
The same may be said of both Nathan Aspinall and Damon Heta who seem to be making forward progress once again.

The reverse of this is that there are a number of majors names loitering toward the bottom of the top 32. Such slumps can be reversed but it gets harder and harder if the slump continues. There are four major or tv event winners and a world and major finalist in the bottom 6 places with only Kevin Doets going in the right direction at the moment.
With more ProTour events coming soon and the Autumn major season approaching now would be the ideal tie for a deep run or two to start picking up momentum.
