Coulson’s Magnificent Seven

Derek Coulson claimed his seventh weekly MODUS Super Series title in emphatic fashion on Saturday night, defeating Jamai van den Herik in the final to secure another place in Champions Week.

The Welshman, already a Series 14 Champions Week winner earlier this year, continued his outstanding form at the Live Lounge.

Having topped Group A earlier in the week, Coulson navigated the short-format drama of Finals Night with the composure that has become his trademark.

Van den Herik produced another strong performance to reach the decider, including a dramatic last-leg victory in the semi-finals that ended David Munyua’s run.

The Dutchman had already shown his quality by topping Group B, but Coulson proved too consistent when it mattered most in the battle between the week’s strongest players

Kevin Edwards also impressed by reaching the final four, while the rest of the six-man field provided competitive group-stage action before the knockout stages took over.

Coulson’s latest triumph makes him the first player since Luke Littler to reach Champions Week after winning a series title, underlining his status as one of the most reliable performers on the Super Series circuit.
