The “Three Kevins” group produced a competitive afternoon of MODUS Super Series darts, but it was Gary Mawson who emerged as the clear pacesetter after five matches.
The North American reversed his Group A fortunes by collecting four wins and sitting top of the table on 8 points.
Mawson was the standout performer, recovering from an early loss to Lane to take the remaining four matches, including tight victories over Edwards and Dekker.
Kevin Edwards and David Munyua both finished the day on three wins (6 points), while Patrick Dekker and Kevin Painter each secured two victories. Kevin Lane managed a solitary win.
Edwards and Munyua traded blows in a close contest that went the way of Edwards, while Painter produced two solid wins but dropped three matches.
The group resumes on Friday afternoon for the second and final day of round-robin play.
The top two will advance to Saturday’s Finals Night.
