Noa-Lynn van Leuven produced a moment of pure magic at the MODUS Super Series this afternoon. After a tough opening two days that left the Dutch thrower rooted to the bottom of Group A, the Dutch star suddenly found range in spectacular fashion.
“The Duchess” stepped up and nailed a perfect nine-darter, joining the exclusive ranks ever to hit a televised 9-dart leg. The Live Lounge erupted as the final double went in, giving van Leuven a huge confidence boost and injecting fresh life into the Netherlands star’s campaign. A sensational response when needed most.
On Monday van Leuven managed only a single victory — a 4-1 win over Jordan Brooks — while suffering heavy losses to Ziggy Schenk (1-4), Neil Duff (1-4), Andy Hamilton (3-4) and Daniel Klose (2-4). Tuesday brought little improvement as the debutant continued to struggle for consistency against the strong Group A field, leaving a mountain to climb heading into the final day of group play.
While flashes of quality have appeared (including a couple of big checkouts), van Leuven had been unable to convert them into the results needed to climb the table.
Todays Group A session will be summarised later today when we see who is the first to reach Saturday’s weekly finale.
Daily MSS play is streamed on Pluto TV from 9.30 AM (BST) with highlights and other coverage on the MODUS Super Series YouTube channel, or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
