Steve Lennon and Conor Heneghan remain inseparable at the summit of Group A after a tightly contested second day of Week 10 action at the MODUS Super Series in Portsmouth.
Both Irishmen finished Tuesday’s play on 14 points from a possible 20, each recording seven wins from their ten matches so far.
Lennon holds a slender advantage on leg difference and overall average, while Danny Trueman stays firmly in the hunt in third on 12 points. Niek Tuik and Alex Spellman share fourth place on eight points, with Andreas Harrysson trailing on four.
Lennon, who had taken the overnight lead after four wins from five on Monday, produced another solid if not perfect session.
He began Day Two with a dominant 4-0 whitewash of Spellman, recovered from a 4-2 reverse against Tuik by defeating Trueman 4-1, added a comfortable 4-1 success over Harrysson, and was edged out 4-3 by Heneghan in the final match of the day. The Irishman’s tournament average of 87.44 remains the best in the group.
Heneghan matched his compatriot stride for stride. He opened with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Tuik, suffered a 4-3 defeat to Trueman, responded by beating Harrysson 4-3, then endured a surprise 4-0 reverse against an improved Spellman before sealing the day with that last-gasp 4-3 victory over Lennon.
The pair head into Wednesday’s concluding Group A session separated only by the finest of margins.

Trueman kept his challenge very much alive with a mixed but ultimately positive day that included a 4-0 demolition of Harrysson (abive), a crucial 4-3 win over Heneghan, another 4-0 success against Spellman, and a 4-3 defeat to Tuik.
Spellman showed clear signs of improvement, stringing together three wins including the 4-0 over Heneghan and a 4-3 victory against Tuik.
Tuik and Harrysson each claimed two wins on the day, keeping themselves mathematically alive heading into the final round-robin session.
With one day of Group A remaining, the top three sit within two points of each other and all six players still have something tangible to play for.
The winner of the three-day group books an automatic place in Saturday’s Finals Night, while the remaining five will be split between Groups B and C later in the week.
Play resumes from 09:30 BST on Wednesday, live and free on Pluto TV.
