Kelling and McDonald Take Early Initiative

Jamie Kelling and Shaun McDonald took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Jim Long into Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

Kelling, who’s became a regular fixture since the introduction of the Super Series, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches and recording victories against Joey Ten Berge, Alec Small, John Brown and Alan Norris, with his only defeat coming against Ron Meulenkamp.

Elsewhere, Small also ended the day on 8 points, but sits behind Kelling in 2^nd due to legs won across the day, whilst Ten Berge sits in 3^rd on 6 points, Brown and Meulenkamp sitting 4^th and 5^th on 4 points each, but it was a disappointing day for Alan Norris, who suffered five straight defeats on his Super Series return.

In Group B, Shaun McDonald took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches and recording victories against Fallon Sherrock, Lee Budgen and Scott Taylor, with his only defeat coming against Berry Van Peer.

Elsewhere, three players in Van Peer, Taylor and Sherrock ended the evening 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th respectively overall on 4 points each, with Budgen sitting bottom on 2 points heading into the second and final night of the group.

Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Jim Long in Saturday’s finale, with Kelling and McDonald taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
