Beau and Barry Claim Crowns

Red Dragon Darts

Beau Greaves and Keane Barry were victorious on Friday, in winning Development Tour Events 11 & 12 respectively, as the third weekend of the PDC’s Youth Tour season commenced at the Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan.

The reigning Women’s World Matchplay Champion, Greaves, whose victory is the first on the Winmau Development tour from a female player, reached the final of Event 11 firstly by recording victories against Tim Scholz, Xanti Van den Bergh, Bailey White, Tyler Thorpe, Lewis Mayes, Owen Maiden and Niko Springer, to set up a clash with compatriot, Daniel Perry.

The final began with Greaves racing into a 2-0 lead, with winning legs coming in 15 and 14 darts respectively, before Perry halved the deficit in Leg Three with a 26 dart hold of throw. However, this turned out to be his solitary leg won in the tie, as Greaves rattled off three legs in succession to seal the victory in Leg Six with a 17 dart hold of throw to create another slice of darting history.

In Event 12, Keane Barry was victorious, with the Former UK Open Semi Finalist reaching the final firstly by recording victories against Lewis Mayes, Nathan Care, Craig Galliano, Jakub Janszkiewicz, Jarred Cole, Leighton Bennett and Wessel Nijman, to set up a clash with Dutchman, Angelo Balsamo.

The final began with Barry racing into a 2-0 lead, with winning legs coming in 17 and 16 darts respectively, before Balsamo halved the deficit in Leg Three with a 14 dart hold of throw. Barry went on to win back-to-back legs once again, this time in 13 and 17 darts to move 4-1 ahead and within one of victory. Balsamo did pull one leg back, before the experienced Irishman sealed the victory in Leg Seven with an 18-dart break of throw to pick up his third Development Tour title of 2024.

PDC Winmau Development Tour weekend continues on Saturday, with Events 13 & 14 taking place in Wigan, with play commencing at 10:00 BST, as all live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
