Richie Howson, Conan Whitehead, Steve West, Darryl Pilgrim and Ted Evetts all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Jimmy Van Schie, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Howson, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Jarred Cole, Conan Whitehead, John McCarthy, Hilton Klein and Adam Lipscombe, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Conan Whitehead also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, missing out on top spot due to leg difference, whilst Adam Lipscombe finished 3rd on 12 points, Jarred Cole in 4th on 10 points, Hilton Klein in 5th on 6 points and John McCarthy bottom on 0 points, having suffered ten straight defeats.
In Group B, Steve West topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Ted Evetts, Rhian O’Sullivan and Steve Reynolds, with his only defeat coming against Darryl Pilgrim, to end on 14 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Darryl Pilgrim and Ted Evetts also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Pilgrim ending on 12 points and Evetts on 8 points, whilst Steve Reynolds finished 4th on 6 points and Rhian O’Sullivan bottom on 0 points, having suffered eight straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 12 with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
