Adam Lipscombe was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the ADC Global Championship, after defeating Andy Boulton in the final and moving through to next Sunday’s Grand Finale.
Lipscombe, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Sebastian Bialecki, before suffering a defeat to Darryl Pilgrim.
However, Lipscombe did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Bradley Brooks, and from there, he defeated his compatriot, 4-1, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Lipscombe came up against Andy Boulton, who defeated Darryl Pilgrim in the last four, and it was the Colchester thrower who dispatched of ‘The X-Factor’ 4-1 to pick up the inaugural Global Championship weekly crown as well as sealing a spot at next week’s Grand Finale.
The ADC Global Championship returns on Monday with Week Two commencing and the start of Week One, with the first of three days of Group A and the field including Marvin Van Velzen, Gary Stone and Adam Mould.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
