Gemma Hayter took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as the second edition of Womens’ Weekcommenced at the Modus Super Series.
Hayter, who last appeared at the Super Series back in September, made a perfect return by
winning all five of her matches, as she recorded victories against Kirsi Viinikainen, Vicky Pruim,Trina Gulliver, Lisa Ashton and Steph Clarke, to sit on a maximum 10 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Lisa Ashton ended the day in 2nd on 8 points, whilst three players in Vicky Pruim, Kirsi Viinikainen and Trina Gulliver sit 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on 4 points each, with Steph Clarke sitting bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Hayter leading the way thus far.
