Ciaran Teehan, Ronan McDonagh, Charlie Manby, Martin Thomas and Adam Gawlas all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the MODUS Super Series, to join Neil Duff, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Teehan, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning three of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Darren Johnson, Jonathan Platt and Peter Wachiuri, with his two defeats coming against Ronan McDonagh and Ivan Springborg Poulsen, to end on 12 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Ronan McDonagh also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points, edging out Ivan Springborg Poulsen, who also ended on 12 points, but missed out in 3rd due to leg difference, whilst Darren Johnson and Peter Wachiuri finished 4th and 5th on 10 points each, with Jonathan Platt finishing bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Charlie Manby topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Martin Thomas, Adam Gawlas, David Wawrzewski and Henry Coates, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Martin Thomas and Adam Gawlas also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Thomas ending on 12 points and Gawlas on 6 points, edging out David Wawrzewski, who also ended on 6 points, but missed out in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Henry Coates finished bottom on 4 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Six with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
