Steve West and Scott Baker took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Derek Coulsen in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
In Group B, Steve West topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Kevin Edwards, Kevin Painter, Andreas Harrysson and Tommy Lishman, to sit on a maximum 8 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Andreas Harrysson ended the night in 2nd on 6 points, whilst Tommy Lishman sits in 3rd on 4 points, Kevin Painter in 4th on 2 points and Kevin Edwards bottom on 0 points, having suffered four straight defeats.
Baker, who last appeared at the Super Series back in March, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Keegan Brown, Tonni Sorensen, Jon Worsley and Robbie King, with his only defeat coming against Barry Copeland, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Keegan Brown also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Baker on leg difference, whilst Jon Worsley sits in 3rd on 6 points, Tonni Sorensen and Barry Copeland sitting 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with Robbie King sitting bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Derek Coulsen in Saturday’s finale, with Baker and West taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
