Derek Coulsen was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Nine at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Andreas Harrysson in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the top prize.
Coulsen, who entered the finale having won Group A earlier in the week, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Scott Baker and Tommy Lishman to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Steve West, and from there, Coulsen whitewashed ‘Simply’ 4-0 to book his place in the final.
In the final, Coulsen came up against Andreas Harrysson, who’d defeated Tommy Lishman in the last four, and nothing separated the pair throughout the tie until The Welshman sealed the victory in a last leg decider to defeat Harrysson 4-3 to secure a place at Champions Week as well as collecting the weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 10, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Former Lakeside Champion Richie Burnett, as well as Former PDC Tour Card Holders in Devon Petersen and Boris Krcmar. Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
