Andy Hamilton and Adam Gawlas took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Graham Usher in Saturday’s Champions Week finale at the MODUS Super Series.
Hamilton, who entered Champions Week having won Week Five back in June, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Scott Taylor, Shane McGuirk, Richard McKee and Jimmy Van Schie, with his only defeat coming against Danny Van Trijp, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Jimmy Van Schie also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Hamilton due to leg difference, whilst Shane McGuirk and Danny Van Trijp sit 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, with Richard McKee sitting 5th on 2 points and Scott Taylor bottom on 0 points having suffered five straight defeats.

In Group B, Adam Gawlas took the early lead after winning three of his four matches on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Jurjen Van der Velde, Derek Coulson and John O’Shea, with his only defeat coming against Jeff Smith, to sit on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Derek Coulson also ended the night on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Gawlas on leg difference, whilst Jeff Smith and Jurjen Van der Velde sit 3rd and 4th respectively on 4 points each, with John O’Shea sitting bottom on 0 points having suffered four straight defeats.

The MODUS Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Graham Usher in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, with Hamilton and Gawlas taking the early lead thus far.
