13-Year-Old Johnson Takes Superb ADC Win At Vault National Finals

Alongside the UK & Ireland Classic, Vault National Finals and Red Dragon Doubles Cup, the weekend’s action in Aylesbury included three money in/money out competitions, and amongst the winners was teenage starlet Jack Johnson.

Friday evening saw Ireland’s Ronan McDonagh emerge victorious, trousering £650 with a 4-1 win against Wales’ Fabian Tapner in the final, and Saturday belonged to Callum Goffin, who restored Welsh pride by winning 4-3 against Oliver Mitchell to bank £820 thanks to the entry list exceeding 300.

Sunday belonged to Johnson, and the JDC Volts National Finals champion turned in a series of eye-catching displays to earn himself £600 for his efforts.

‘Jacky Boy’ dropped just two legs in making the last 32, where he took out 170 en route to a 4-3 win against Jack Drayton, and after beating Shane Hayward 4-1, the Kent native produced a stunning 4-0 win against Harrison Leigh, averaging 103.66 and going seven darts into a perfect leg during the match.

Johnson would then get past ADC UK & Ireland Classic champion Shane Turner to make the final, where he dodged match darts before prevailing against Sam Spivey, much to the watching crowd’s delight.

It’s certainly exciting to see just how far Johnson can go, and on this evidence, it’s very far.
