The PDC recent policy of offering invitation to new players in the World Series of Darts events continues with Gian van Veen and Ross Smith making their debuts Down Under on the global circuit in August, with the field of PDC stars now confirmed for this summer’s double-header.
The PDC’s annual trip Down Under will begin with the SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters in Auckland on August 14-15, before the KenoGO Australian Darts Masters takes place in Wollongong on August 21-22.
Each event will see a 16-player field competing over two days of action, as the eight PDC superstars go head-to-head with eight Oceanic representatives.

Dutch number one Van Veen will be among the star attractions in New Zealand and Australia, having featured in two televised finals in 2026.
The reigning European Champion was the runner-up in January’s World Championship showpiece, while he also helped steer Netherlands to their first World Cup final since 2018 in Frankfurt last weekend.
Former European Champion Smith will also make his Oceanic World Series of Darts debut this summer, having enjoyed a terrific start to 2026.

The 37-year-old celebrated his maiden European Tour title with victory in May’s International Darts Open, and has also claimed a brace of Players Championship titles this year.
Van Veen and Smith will compete in August’s double-header alongside Welsh duo Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, with Clayton poised to make his first appearance Down Under since 2022.

Their Premier League rivals Josh Rock and Stephen Bunting will also feature, with ten-time TV title winner James Wade and Australian number one Damon Heta completing the PDC line-up.
The Oceanic representatives are headlined by Australian icon Simon Whitlock, who won the inaugural edition of the ANZ Premier League in Brisbane last year.
New Tour Card Holder Adam Leek – who replaced Whitlock in Australia’s World Cup team this year – will also make his World Series debut on home soil, with the remaining six qualifiers to be confirmed over the coming weeks from the ADA and DPNZ circuits.
