MODUS Super Series 15, Week 4 sees three groups and three very different stories on paper as this week’s field mixes seasoned pros with recognisable MODUS regulars right across the board.
Group A carries the veteran weight.
Steve Beaton headlines, and the “Bronzed Adonis” arrives with the Super Series still doing the job it’s done for him all year. Keeping the 62-year old sharp between Challenge Tour outings. Beaton has been vocal about how much he values the weekly grind in Portsmouth over exhibition darts.
“It’s pushed me hard,” he said of a recent run to a final, and with John Henderson also in the mix, Group A has genuine experience at both ends.
Jack Smith, Adam Hunt, Jurjen Nuijten and Danny van Trijp make up the rest, with the Dutch pairing of Nuijten and Van Trijp adding different flavour to a group otherwise built around home-grown craft.
Group B is a tighter trio on paper. Ted Evetts, Colin Osborne and Paul Hogan, three players with plenty of tour pedigree between them and no shortage of previous meetings on the Super Series stage.
DartsWorld Ambassador Osborne has been clocking up wins on the Vault circuit but is yet to return to his week winning MSS form this year.
Group C has the standout narrative of the week. James and Josh Richardson, father and on, sharing a group again.
It’s a pairing with real history – James hit a nine-darter against his own son back in 2021, when the Super Series as we know it was the MODUS Online Live League, a result he still apologised for afterwards.
The pair also made headlines together in 2023 as the first father-son combination to play in the same England team.
With Josh having also cut his teeth on the PDC Pro Tour and James still turning out regularly on the Super Series stage, this is a family rivalry with genuine stakes attached.
Former Tour Card holder Matt Dennant completes the group, as “The Scholar” looks to pick up some much needed preparation for another run at Q-School in January.
