The final weekend of events at WADC Winmau Championship North got going at Middlesbrough Sports Village, and Vicky Pruim and Steph Clarke put themselves in pole postion for places at the ADC Global Championship with a title win each on day one in the North East.
Pruim was first into the winners enclosure, as the Swede proved too strong for close rival Kim Holden as she surged to a 5-1 win in the Event Nine final.
Pruim, who had already win two titles on this tour in 2026, defeated Carla Boyes 4-1 in her opening match, and an 80.38 average was then enough for a 4-3 win against former WDF World Championship finalist Kirsty Hutchinson.
Another final leg was required for Pruim to make the semi-finals, as she edged past another close rival in the standings in Steph Clarke, but Pruim didn’t have such dramas in making the final, powering past Natalie Gilbert 5-2.
Holden, who won two titles in the first weekend of the season, got back to form in this event, with wins against Liz Humphries, Tracey Heppinstall and Rebecca Langridge seeing her into the last eight, where she blasted past Tip Whillis in a whitewash win. Holden would make the final in similar fashion, dropping just one leg to get past Judith Pike.
A 13-darter moved Pruim 3-1 up in the title match, and she sealed the title and £500 first prize with an 18-darter as she shot up to the top of the standings with victory.
Another to win their third crown of the campaign was Steph Clarke, and she got the better of Jo Oldershaw in a battling 5-3 success in the Event Ten final.
Clarke began with wins over Crissy Manley and Marie Fitton, and then gained revenge for her defeat to Pruim at Event Nine with a superb 4-0 win, averaging over 81 in the process.
Clarke then saw off Jackie Brighton 5-2 to make the last four, where she took a solid 5-3 victory over Angela Kirkwood.
Oldershaw was unfortunate to miss out at Event Nine, where several missed match darts went by, as did a 4-1 lead in a 5-4 defeat to Natalie Gilbert, but she bounced back with a run all the way to the finale the second time around.
After whitewashing Judith Pike, Oldershaw gained revenge against Gilbert to make the quarter finals, winning 4-2, and she then thrashed Eleanor Cairns 5-0, before easing past Tip Whillis 5-1 to oppose Clarke.
Oldershaw missed double 18 for a 113 finish and a 3-1 lead, and that proved costly as Clarke went 4-3 up. Oldershaw would miss darts to take the match all the way, and Clarke stepped in to pin tops to take the spoils, and she moves into second place in the standings ahead of Gilbert.
The top two players qualify for the ADC Global Championship, while the top eight make the Tour Finals.
Gilbert now sits in third spot, with Kim Holden, Angela Kirkwood, Lauryn Salter Eleanor Cairns and Sara Walton occupying places four to eight.
The Tour comes to a conclusion on Sunday, with Events 11 and 12 on the agenda.
