Round Two got underway in Antwerp on Saturday afternoon with a clean sweep for the higher-ranked players, though one last-leg thriller provided the early drama at the Flanders Darts Trophy.
Kevin Doets edged a high-quality opener against Krzysztof Ratajski 6-5, both players averaging just over 93. The Dutchman held his nerve in the decider to book his place in the last 16.
Elsewhere it was largely one-way traffic. Jermaine Wattimena produced a solid 95+ average to defeat Karel Sedlacek 6-3.
Rob Cross continued his strong form with a 6-4 win over Martin Schindler, while Danny Noppert was clinical in a 6-2 success against fellow Dutchman Chris Landman.
Ryan Searle ended home favourite Andy Baetens’ run with a comfortable 6-2 victory.
Chris Dobey was ruthless, whitewashing Niels Zonneveld 6-1, and Luke Woodhouse produced the session’s highest average (98.63) in a 6-3 win over William O’Connor.
Ross Smith rounded things off in style, averaging over 100 in a 6-2 demolition of Jeffrey de Graaf.
All eight winners advance to Sunday’s last-16 action.
