AFTER BEING unsuccessful finalists three times, Lancashire finally took the British Youth K.O. Cup at the Kettering Leisure Village, Kettering.
Their eventual victory came when they beat last year’s winners, Glamorgan ‘A’, 6-3 in the final.
Lancashire first overcame Cambridgeshire 8-1 and followed with victories over Berkshire 6-3, Essex 5-4 and Gloucestershire 8-1.
The Glamorgan ‘A’ journey to the final began with a 7-2 win over Yorkshire and then success over Gwynedd 8-1, Renfrewshire 5-4 and Sussex ‘A’ 6-3.
A total of 29 teams of nine participated in this 20th year of the tournament.
