The Artist paints a classic to get past O Shea

Red Dragon Darts

Kevin Painter and Tony O Shea served up a tremendous encounter during the opening night of the World Seniors Darts World Championship last night.

Painter looked like he would run away with the match, as he won the opening 2 sets. The momentum began to turn midway through the next set as O Shea relaxed and began to find an impressive scoring rythym. The 3rd set went all the way to a decider, but O’Shea hung on to extend the contest.

The 4th set also went the way of O’Shea, who now had the momentum. taking us to a final set.

The rules state that the 5th set of any match must be won by 2 clear legs. At 5-5 there will be a sudden-death leg with no bullseye.

O’Shea broke early in the set to lead for the first time, and Kev began to look frustrated but a 156 checkout from Painter, the highest of the tournament so far, steered the match back in his favour.
