ONE SHOT

I was privileged to be asked by the Times to be the first non-staff photographer to do an “Unseen Gallery” and it would also be the first time darts had been featured...

...steadily but very quickly I moved it from left to right in that fraction of a second it took for Chris to throw a dart.

The  2019 World Matchplay Championship was taking place at it’s traditional venue of the beautiful Winter Gardens in Blackpool and it coincided with the 50th Anniversary of that momentous day ,which had so captured my young imagination, when “humans dared to go where no humans had been before”.

My aim was to capture the moments of their triumphs , of their disappointments ,showing the joy of winning and the despair of defeat ...

Alan Warriner-Little became the one and only player to do a celebratory “Walk-off”...

a moment that he, I, those in attendance, and those watching on TV here and around the world, will never forget
