Mike Gillet was victorious on Saturday in winning Week 2 of the Online Darts Live League and securing a place in Champions Week, after defeating Scott Baker in the decider, with Thibault Tricole winning the 3rd place playoff to secure his qualification into Champions Week, as the second week of Phase 1 concluded.
Gillet, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B, won just one of his group phase matches, in defeating Simon Stevenson, before being defeated by Scott Baker. In the Semi Finals, Gillet took on Matthew Edgar, and came out a 4-2 victor to book his place in the final and a spot at Champions Week, no matter the outcome of the decider.
In the final, Gillet took on Scott Baker for the second time on the night, and nothing separated the pair with Gillet sealing the victory with a 16 darter and getting his revenge over Baker with a 4-2 win.
Elsewhere, beaten Semi Finalists Thibault Tricole and Matthew Edgar competed in a 3rd place playoff to see who would join Gillet and Baker in Champions Week, and it was Tricole who was victorious, in coming out as a 4-2 victor.
Online Darts Live League returns on Tuesday with Week 3 commencing with the first of two days of Group A, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
