Justin Smith was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week 3 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Martin Adams in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
Smith, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Robert Thornton and Thibault Tricole in last leg deciders to book his place in the Semi Finals, where he came up against Andy Hamilton, and once again, defeated ‘The Hammer’ 4-3 to seal his place in the final.
In the decider, Smith came up against Martin Adams, who’d defeated Thibault Tricole in the last four, and the Welshman defeated ‘Wolfie’ 4-2, sealing the victory with an 18 darter to win the Week 3 crown, book his place in Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 1st prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 4, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
