Jamie Kelling was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 5 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Richie Parkin in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
Kelling, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, by defeating Lee Evans, before losing to Richie Parkin. He eventually progressed through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against the winner of Group A from earlier in the week, Conor Heneghan, and Kelling defeated the Irish youngster 4-3 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Kelling came up against Richie Parkin for the 2nd time on the night, who’d defeated Matt Dennant in the previous round, and this time Kelling got his revenge, by defeating Parkin 4-2 to book his place in Champions Week and pick up the Week 5 crown and the £5,000 weekly 1st prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 6, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
