Red Dragon Snap Up Local Boy Owen

Robert Owen joins Team Red Dragon after a superb season on the Winmau Challenge Tour, finishing second in the Order of Merit and in so doing, securing his full PDC Pro-Tour playing rights for the next 2 years.

The hard-working Welshman has made a habit of staying around and making a name for himself as a tough player to beat, who plays with little fear. This year he has played and won on the PDC Challenge Tour, The WDF circuit and the MODUS Super Series and its predecessor the Live League

Multi-format specialist Owen has played in many different events, always backed himself and believed in his belonging at the top level of the game.

Rob said about joining Red Dragon, “Naturally I’ve known Red Dragon for years and seen the brand go from strength to strength with some superb players at the brand, so I’m looking to carry this forward and to deliver the game I know that’s in my locker”.

Simon Hall Director of Marketing added, “If Rob brings his A-Game out on stage then look out as he’s super talented and really cool, seems like nothing bothers him including reputations or losing and we’ll be helping him all the way”.

Robert, known as Stack Attack due to his throwing style, pays tribute to his wife and family as well as leading darts management MODUS Sport (@ModusDarts180) he has recently extended his contract with the company and credits George Noble and Jason Thame with ensuring he can just concentrate on the playing side of the game.

The Boardroom and the Darts World coach have long championed these modern ‘Hybrid’ professionals it will be interesting to see how Robert progresses upon his return to the top table.
