Shane McGuirk and Steve West took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Tommy Morris in the Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
McGuirk, who’s last appearance at the Super Series saw him reach the finale of Week One during Stage Three, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C, winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Thibault Tricole, Michel Van der Horst, Jack Main and Lisa Ashton, with his only defeat coming against Ryan Harrington.
Elsewhere, Ryan Harrington also ended the day on 8 points each, but sits behind McGuirk due to legs won across the day, whilst Lisa Ashton sits in 3rd on 6 points, Thibault Tricole in 4th on 4 points, with Jack Main and Michel Van der Horst sitting joint bottom on 2 points each.
In Group B, Steve West took the early lead, with the Former Tour Card Holder winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Daniel Lee, Patrick Maat and Lee Shewan, with his only defeat coming against Dan Read.
Elsewhere, Daniel Lee also ended the night on 6 points, but sits behind West on leg difference, whilst Patrick Maat sits in 3rd on 4 points, with Lee Shewan and Dan Read sitting joint bottom on 2 points each.
Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Tommy Morris in Saturday’s finale, with McGuirk and West taking the early lead thus far.
Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
