William Borland was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week One at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Nico Blum in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.
Borland, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Jarred Cole and Charlie Large to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Harry Ward, and from there, Borland defeated ‘Big H’ 4-2 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Borland came up against Nico Blum, who’d defeated Charlie Large in the last four, and the Scotsman showed his class and experience as a Former PDC Tour Card Holder, to defeat ‘Flower Power’ 4-1 to become the first player through to Champions Week of Series Six and pick up the £5,000 weekly top prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the Former World Champion Scott Mitchell headlining the field.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
