Mat Caste and Martin Adams took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Darryl Pilgrim in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Caste, who last appeared at the Super Series back in December, made his return by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches and recording victories against Reece Colley, Dave Ladley, Nick Fullwell and Damian Mol, with his only defeat coming against Jimmy Van Schie, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.
Elsewhere, Jimmy Van Schie ended the day in 2nd on 6 points, whilst the remaining four players all sit on 4 points each, with Reece Colley leading the way in 3rd due to a higher leg difference over his trio of competitors.
In Group B, Martin Adams took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches, as ‘Wolfie’ recorded victories against Steven Johnstone, Paul Hogan and Tom Sykes, with his only defeat coming Kurt Parry, to end the evening on 6 points from a possible 8.
Elsewhere, a trio of players in Kurt Parry, Paul Hogan and Steven Johnstone ended the night 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively overall on 4 points each, whilst Tom Sykes sits bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Darryl Pilgrim in Saturday’s finale, with Caste and Adams taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
