The newly announced Mid Suffolk Open will offer £3000 in prize money with £1000 for the winner, £500 for the runner up and prizes of £250 for the semi-finalists and more besides.

The Mid Suffolk Open follows on from the Darts Referee Open organised by YouTuber and ex PDC Referee Jack Langston in association with Evolution Darts which was staged in May.

Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – is staging the event on Saturday 17 August starting at 11.00am organised by top darts events business Evolution Darts.  It will be one in a series of events which will culminate in a Super Series Grand final in December.

Around 160 players are expected to attend along with spectators who can enjoy food, snacks and a bar on the day.  The format will be a Round Robin event with two from each group qualifying for the KO stages.

Players will include some top names from the PDC development tour, challenge tour and women’s tour including England International Jo Locke, Pro Tour player Ryan Meikle and World Seniors Event Winner/Modus Super Series Star Kevin Edwards.

Says Darren Moyes of Evolution Darts, ‘We are looking forward to another top darts event in Suffolk which is attracting some of the biggest named players in the UK. These events are proving hugely popular as darts is continuing to enjoy a massive resurgence of interest with the likes of Luke Littler setting the world alight.’

‘The standard is sure to be high with pros mixed in with players of all abilities and so it’s going to be a great event for spectators as well.’

It was in March that Stonham Barns Park and Evolution Darts hosted its first Super Series darts tournament that saw Essex-based Darren O’Neill beat a strong turnout of players.

The event was one of 7 taking place at venues throughout Suffolk – presented by Evolution Darts in association with Target Darts – leading to a finals day which will also be staged at Stonham Barns Park later in the year (7 December).

Stonham Barns Park has been hosting various darts events at the new Legends Sports Bar – named in honour of a variety of sporting legends – since its opening – with famous names from the world of darts including Russ Bray and Ipswich-based Keith Deller. It sponsors Suffolk’s 11-Year-Old Darts Prodigy Lennon ‘The Force’ Wharf.
