Bryceland Strikes Darts Perfection at Just 12-Years-Old

Diamond Draws Competitions

Scottish sensation Owen Bryceland is the latest prodigious young talent to etch his name into darts history – and remarkably, he is not even a teenager yet.

At the astonishingly tender age of just 12, the youngster affectionately nicknamed The Bandit shattered the record for the youngest player to produce a magical nine-darter in a competitive match.

Hailing from Cumbernauld, Bryceland achieved perfection during a recent International Darts School League (IDSL) qualifying fixture on home soil in Scotland. It represents yet another extraordinary milestone for someone so young, once again reinforcing the notion that the future of the sport is gleaming with promise.

In the not-too-distant future, the likes of Owen, his compatriot Mitchell Lawrie, along with a surging wave of emerging talents progressing through various developmental systems, will be the names populating the PDC Pro Tour. And, inevitably, it will not be long before they transition onto our television screens, competing for major honours on the sport’s grandest stages.

Its not even Owen’s first headline making achievement in darts. He has featured in local and national newspapers since the age of 8 and has his own website documenting an already impressive darting journey. He has even joined prestigious manufacturer youth program with Target Elite 1 (pictured).

Even now, the standard across the professional circuit is at an unprecedented level. Fast forward a handful of years, and that depth will descend to staggering new levels, plunging well below sea level in terms of depth, quality and competition.

Devon Delighted With New Darts Initiative

African darts trailblazer Devon Petersen, who is heavily involved in the IDSL initiative, took to social media to personally share his admiration and congratulations for the young Scot and his family following this monumental achievement:

“Owen Bryceland ‘The Bandit’ (12 years old) strikes perfection and becomes the first ever player to hit the PERFECT 9 DARTER.

“Amazing to see how he has progressed over the years from a shy kid to a super of the future in the sport of darts.

“Congratulations Jamie Bryceland and the family.”

The IDSL is a relatively new organisation designed to encourage children aged 9-18 from schools across the globe to compete, learn, and develop within the sport of darts.
