Pundits, commentators, and darts fans alike tend to place significant weight on statistics. While they are by no means the definitive measure of a match outcome – ultimately, legs won are all that truly matter – they remain an excellent barometer of performance and consistency.
With this year’s Players Championship season now just over a third complete, and twelve events already in the books, it offers a compelling opportunity to assess the standout performers so far. A deeper dive into the numbers reveals some genuinely intriguing patterns, including one nation with three of the top five, but not in the order you would perhaps have thought.

Wessel Nijman features prominently across multiple categories. The in-form Dutchman has already claimed four floor titles this season and, as a result, dominates several statistical columns. Across the ten tournaments in which the reigning European Darts Trophy champion has competed, he boasts a staggering match win rate of 88.7% – comfortably the highest on tour. From 53 matches played, he has suffered defeat just six times.
Second on that list is Chris Dobey, who leads the way among the ever-presents. ‘Hollywood’ has played the same number of matches as Nijman but with five additional losses, resulting in an impressive 80.8% success rate.
Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen follow, despite featuring in fewer events, but it is the name in fifth that truly catches the eye – Kevin Doets. Hawkeye may still be searching for his first title, yet his consistency has been exemplary. Having not missed a single tournament this season – or indeed in his professional career to date – he maintains a win rate comfortably above 75%, underlining his reliability.
For those fond of neat figures, exactly 100 Tour Card holders have competed in all twelve events so far. Ranking third among that group, with an outstanding 71.1% win rate of wins, is the remarkable Beau Greaves. Given her recent history-making breakthrough title and a series of deep runs, it comes as little surprise. The three-time Lakeside World Champion is, quite naturally, the standout debutant.

At the other end of the spectrum, only two players have yet to register a victory on the Players Championship circuit this season. It would be harsh to include Luke Littler, who has not participated in any events, so he is excluded from consideration. That leaves Oskar Lukasiak and Pero Ljubic. The numbers arguably reflect more harshly on the Swede, who has missed just two events, whereas Ljubic has only featured in half of them.
Opportunity Knocks For Darts Call Ups
Turning to the Challenge Tour call-ups, three players – Joe Hunt, Martin Dragt, and Jack Tweddell – have capitalised on withdrawals to compete in every event in 2026. Among them, it is Hunt who stands out, boasting a highly commendable 60% win rate, placing him comfortably within the top 32 overall on that particular metric.
All told, while silverware may ultimately define a season, these underlying numbers paint a far richer picture of the tour’s current landscape. From Nijman’s relentless dominance to Greaves’ seamless transition and Doets’ admirable consistency, the data highlights a blend of established excellence and emerging momentum. As the campaign progresses and the stakes intensify, it will be fascinating to see whether these trends hold firm – or if a new wave of statistical supremacy begins to take shape on the oche.
